Objectives

  • Develop multidisciplinary research to help promote animal health and public health in relation to hunting management and management and exploitation of livestock and natural resources for a sustainable rural development.
  • Contribute to the development of new sanitary, productive and animal welfare practices, and to the advancement and improvement of public health, hunting management and management and exploitation of livestock and natural resources.
  • Contribute to the epidemiological surveillance of epizootic and enzootic processes, especially, but not only, in the western cross-border area (Portugal).
  • Disseminate the importance of research in hunting management and management and exploitation of livestock and natural resources in our environment.
  • Contribute to specialized training, through master’s degrees and high-level specialization courses, and to the initiation of postgraduates, both in research and in practice, in sanitary matters and sustainable livestock management and hunting.
