Badajoz will host the XXIII National Congress of Ornithology where 350 experts will meet as well as ornithologists and nature lovers. This event will be held from November 2 to 5. This biennial meeting, where it deals with scientific novelties and projects that have to do with birds.
Once again, the city will become the epicenter of ornithology, following the success of the European Congress two years ago, with more than five hundred attendees.
Now, thanks to the Spanish Ornithological Society SEO / BirdLife, there is a new impulse, with its national appointment, to the recent commitment of Badajoz to promote itself as a privileged destination for bird watching tourism.
Alfonso Marzal, president-elect of the European Union of Ornithologists, who “We are in line with the importance of Badajoz as an ornithological destination”.
Precisely, Alfonso Marzal and Florentino de Lope (BIOETO-UEx), president of the Spanish Ornithological Society, are the ones in charge of organizing the National Congress in Badajoz. Both professors of the University of Extremadura, on the campus of Badajoz, a country that speaks for itself about the importance of ornithology in the city.
