TRAGSA Award granted to Sergio Sánchez Prieto’s thesis


The Doctoral Thesis by Sergio Sánchez Prieto, entitled “Epidemiology of Verotoxigenic Escherichia coli from Ovine Origin: Longitudinal Study and Clonal Relations in Ovine Farms in Extremadura through PFGE”, and directed by Juan Manuel Alonso and Joaquín Rey, from the Department of Animal Health from the University of Extremadura, has received the TRAGSA-UNIVERSITY OF EXTREMADURA Award for the best Doctoral Thesis in Agro-livestock.

This award arises through an agreement of the TRAGSA Group with the University of Extremadura and in order to encourage the scientific training of graduates by the University in the field of Veterinary Sciences, in any of the many aspects that make up the doctrinal body of the veterinary profession, especially designed on animal production, medicine and animal health, as well as hygiene and food technology. It was called for the second time in May 2009 and is endowed with 600 euros.
